Recently I decided to start a photography project. I've had some small ones in the past, but it was a long time ago (when I was in the art school to be precise), so I figured it would be a nice experience to do one again.
I didn't really know what kind of project I should do, so I looked around the web and started writing a list of potential projects. The list got huge, that's when I thought it would be a shame if I didn't share it with anyone. So I selected the best ones and made an epic list of 30 creative photography projects. Even if you're not going to start a project of your own, it still has tons of creative ideas, so check it out:www.photonal.net/the-epic-list…
But my purpose of writing this journal entry wasn't to tell you about the list, it was to announce my project. So here we go:
, I'm going to do the daily outdoors challenge
(number 9 on the list). I've noticed that I'm demanding too much from myself when it comes to publishing photographs. I've seen many of you guys publishing a lot of photographs recently, and I'm jealous. With the way I do photography now, I simply can't produce stuff as fast as I would like to.
Usually it takes me anywhere between 3-8 hours to create one photograph, and because of this I don't do this on a daily basis. This challenge is a good way to cure my perfectionism towards photography and be happy with the results I'm getting.
When I do this daily, I don't have time to spend 3-8 hours on each picture, it would be insane. Because most of this time goes into editing, not to photography itself, I figured it would be a great idea to take a step back and focus more on photography itself rather than editing. Of course I'm still going to edit the photographs I take, but I'm just trying to do it as quickly as possible.
My challenge ends 30.6.2014
, so this is a one month challenge. Wish me luck, I hope you follow my progress! Oh and I'd like to know:
- Have you ever done any photography projects?
- Are you planning on doing one?
Tell me your thoughts, I'd be happy to hear from you!
